British constable blames crime on immigrants

Jeff in England sent me this story from the Daily Mail::

Mass immigration to blame for knife culture, chief constable warns

A chief constable gave a stark public warning yesterday of ‘immense’ pressure placed on resources by the unprecedented influx of immigrants.

Julie Spence, who heads Cambridgeshire Police, took the highly unusual step of singling out Poles, Lithuanians and Iraqi Kurds who are carrying knives on the streets.

Whoa. A British official is blaming a social problem on immigrants? I kept reading:

The comments of such a senior officer in a Parliamentary evidence session will spark widespread alarm at a time when the UK is struggling to control knife crime.

Mrs Spence said: ‘We have had the Iraqi Kurds who carry knives and the Poles and the Lithuanians who carry knives. If it is normal to carry them where you come from, you need to educate them pretty quickly. We have done a lot of work to tell them not to, and we have seen it go down.’

The chief constable—who first sparked a nationwide debate on migrant crime last year—also said there were problems related to violent debt recovery among Eastern Europeans….

Mrs Spence has given previous warnings of the link between migrants and certain types of crime. Last September she highlighted a surge in drinkdriving, for example, by migrants with ‘different’ cultures and standards.

But it is highly unusual for a police chief to single out certain nationalities as posing a specific crime problem.

I wrote back to Jeff:

Some b.s. going on here. The knife murders, as everyone knows, are almost all committed by blacks. Yet for the first time immigrants such as Poles are being singled out. Why? To distract attention from the blacks.

Jeff replied:

Immigrants carry knives but don’t actually do many stabbings. Blacks carry knives and do stab people.

That seems to be the gist of it.

You make a good point.

LA replies:

And probably many of the immigrants carry knives to protect themselves from blacks. And notice that for all the alarm raised in the story, it never says that knife attacks are being committed by the immigrants.

By the way, the story has a photo of chief constable Julie Spence, and she looks at first like a man, with short hair, a stringy neck, and an odd, homely face. Then you look closer and you realize she doesn’t look quite like a man either but is sort of half way between male and female. Yet she’s describes as “Mrs Spence.” Very strange. It wasn’t like this in Penny Lane. Or is this Lovely Rita in her middle age?

Still, Spence is speaking more frankly about immigration than other British officials, and that’s something.

However, the reality of the scenario is that there is plenty of UK immigrant crime going on, violent and otherwise.

A 15 year old Somalian (black) schoolgirl was just murdered by a Somalian (black) man who wanted to marry her and was stalking her. She apparently refused his advances so he stabbed her in a lift (elevator). Somalians and other black Africans have been involved in many incidents like these. Romanians (many who are ‘gypsies) are robbing people like there is no tomorrow. Kurds and Albanians and Turks and Kosovans and Vietnamese and Chinese are fighting over drug turf. I could go on and on.

However, I would not label the above as YOUTH crime.

So while that article was muddled, the reality is that immigration has brought much crime to the UK.

But most violent YOUTH knife and gun crime incidents (with individuals as victims) seem to be by British born black youth.

Muslim youth have a relatively low crime rate though that may be changing as the Muslim family weakens. Ditto Chinese and other Asians.

I will try and get some statistics on this topic and send them to you.

The topic needs clarity.

Poles and Lithuanians wearing knives, swaggering about the streets of English cities? Why not? England might be the place for a good street fight with Muslims. (See Wikipedia’s article on the Battle of Vienna.)

And about Julie Spence: last time I was in England (last May), I made a note to try to figure out why the British have a characteristic droopy mouth and the lines going down from the corners of their mouth to their jawline, so well displayed by Julie Spence. I’m no expert on such things, but I think it’s the way they talk (which includes how they move and shape their mouths), and over the years it makes the lines. Any time you see Britons talking—especially anyone who already has pronounced lines—watch their mouths, it’s very different from how Americans move theirs.

Derbyshire has the mouth droop going.
