Unlike King Canute, when Obama says he can control the oceans, he believes it
In a good column about Obama-god’s ever-inflating estimation of himself, Charles Krauthammer writes:
For the first few months of the campaign, the question about Obama was: Who is he? The question now is: Who does he think he is?Also, be sure to see Krauthammer’s explanation of what King Canute was up to when he ordered the tides to halt:
Obama may think he’s King Canute, but the good king ordered the tides to halt precisely to refute sycophantic aides who suggested that he had such power. Obama has no such modesty. Tim W. writes:
Krauthammer’s column was perfect! Remember the 1960s Johnny Rivers hit, The Seventh Son? It should be Obama’s campaign theme:James W. writes:
Krauthammer asks of B.O.,”Who does he think he is?” As Bill Shakespeare forsaw, “He must be a wise man, he speaks so much of himself.”Amit G. writes:
Regarding the question you ask who is Obama and who does he think he is—he is all of us together all races all cultures all peoples. he is who we wan;t to be and we will arrive at who we are going to. this is why a poll shows that people behind obama are more happy with their candidate and more optomistic than the others because we are going fiorward in a spirit of unity of all peoples. Is this not excitting and why young people are feeling the spirit of Obama?!!Mark Jaws writes:
I think we have found in Amit G, the quintessential Obama supporter, whose views are as defined as that of his candidate.LA replies:
That’s assuming Amit G. is for real, and not a conservative wag sending up third-worldism/one-worldism.Dimitri K. writes:
Obama has inflated self estimation. But that’s exactly why he attracts people. That’s the reason why celebrities are popular. Many people, including myself in my youth, are looking for someone with inflated self esteem in order to adore him and to follow him.
