That cannibalism report

Since the Canadian police never tell us what they know about a crime when there is a great need to know it, a practice that they say is to protect the rights of the accused, but that I think is to keep Canadians in a passive, Eloi state about what’s going on their country, we’ve had no confirmation or denial from the police concerning the bizarre report that Li ate pieces of the victim’s body.

Here’s an AP article from last evening quoting the police tape where an officer said he saw cannibalism:

A police officer at the scene of a grisly beheading on a Canadian bus reported seeing the attacker hacking off pieces of the victim’s body and eating them, according to a police tape leaked on the Internet Saturday.

In the tape of radio transmissions, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer refers to the attacker as “Badger” and says he is armed with a knife and scissors and is “defiling the body at the front of the bus as we speak.”

On the tape, which lasts about 80 seconds, officers continue to detail the attacker’s movements until one reports, “Badger’s at the back of the bus, hacking off pieces and eating it.”

The RCMP described the tapes as “operational police communications and, as such, are not meant for public consumption.” Police said permission had not been given to use the radio transmission, which was posted on LiveLeak.com and picked up by other Web sites.

Meaning that the lovely folks at the RCMP will not condescend to clear up this story one way or another, at least until the trial, in a year or two. But right now, when the people of Canada and the U.S., apart from the criminal justice process itself, have a legitimate need to know about this horrific event, we’re kept in confusion, forced to form an inadequate picture out of bits and pieces.

The reader who sent me the article said, “It seems that the cover-up you predicted might come to be.” I didn’t know what he meant, and asked, “How is this eating report part of a cover-up? Because if he ate the victim, he couldn’t be a Muslim?”

In another new piece of information about Li’s previous life, the article goes on to say that Li’s employer regarded him as a model employee:

Li’s employer said in an interview Saturday that he was shocked to learn that his “model employee” had been accused of the grisly attack. Vincent Augert, an independent contractor who distributes newspapers in Edmonton, said that Li was one of his most reliable carriers.

“He was very punctual and always cleanly dressed,” he told The Associated Press. “He was a very nice, polite guy. We would’ve had no reason to let him go before all this happened.”

Augert said Li had worked for him since last July and caused no problems.

“I had no odd suspicions about him at all,” said Augert.

Augert said that Li called him two weeks ago to say he needed a day or two off to go to Winnipeg for a job interview at the end of July. He said Li called him back and left a message with the dates, but never followed up after that.

“That was unusual for him not to call back and then when he didn’t show up for work on Tuesday we got worried,” said Augert, who said it was sometimes difficult to understand Li because he spoke quickly and had a strong Chinese accent.

Augert said he called Li’s cell phone on Thursday and his wife answered. She told him that she hadn’t heard from Li, who had told her he had to leave for a few days because of a family emergency.

Josh F., who sent the article, offers various conspiratorial-type speculations that I do not credit, but I post them because, given the strangeness of the event and the unsettling lack of adequate reporting suggestive of a controlled society, his comments are not without a certain logic; and because they show how, when the authorities cannot be trusted to give the truth, especially negative truths about nonwhites and non-Westerners, conspiracy theories become inevitable.

Josh F. writes:

The scenarios that exist are that Li either ate his victim or he didn’t. The leaked evidence of such an cannibalistic event seems contrived. [LA replies: that seems highly unlikely to me.] Or, such an eyewitness account was left out of the original reports as many other things were. [Don’t understand.] But, the question becomes, if armed police officers see a bear feeding upon the fresh carcass of its victim, is the bear not killed on site? Why would officers at the scene be witness to such a thing as a beast eating a human being? On the other hand, Li could have taken it upon himself to muddy the waters as to whether his “faith” played a part in this execution and dehumanization. How much more fanatical would one have to be to eat the flesh of his victim after he has gutted and beheaded him? Not much, I would say.

If you look at the Greyhound bus then it becomes clear that one could not witness the cannibalism inside the bus unless said witness was inside the bus. So according to the article I sent you, it appears that two officers witnessed the cannibalism because they were on the bus. But, if they were on the bus and witnessed such a beastly act, two questions come immediately to mind. First, why was this beast not put down instantly? And second, can we trust those in positions of power to give accurate testimony when we understand that they function under a liberal ideological constraint, whether internally or externally imposed? Unless it is confirmed that these officers were on the bus then it seems their “leaked tapes” were a function of protocol. What turns a jihadist crime into a crime of “paranoid schizophrenia” faster than eating your victim after you’ve beheaded and gutted him? And even if there is an account of officers boarding the bus to witness this act of barbarity, how have we come to a point where such a ghastly individual was not instantly euthanized like any common animal would be if discovered feeding on its human victim? The question is rhetorical of course, but shows beyond doubt that many in positions of authority ARE WORKING towards our collective destruction.

“the bizarre report that Li ate pieces of the victim’s body”

There is some evidence—admittedly spotty—of an Islamic penchant for cannibalism, among certain Palestinians, for example, who have dismembered bodies they have lynched and eaten the entrails thereof. There is also a story of some Muslim gangs in Iraq who have cooked the bodies of children they abducted from Christian Iraqis, then gave them to the families in order to terrorize them.

A commenter on Jihad Watch wrote:

“Then there was a scene from the early days of the “Intifada” in which Muslims were photographed gleefully eating the organs of an Israel victim thrown from a building in Nablus/Shechem.”

Unfortunately, I have been unable to track down any corroborating evidence on this.

Then there’s this article by C.R. Pennell which I dug up from the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Vol. 18, No. 2 (1991), pp. 169-185, titled “Cannibalism in Early Modern North Africa”:

“There is evidence that between the seventeenth and early nineteenth centuries some people in North Africa at other people, or at the very least that they cooked them… the evidence comes from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya.”

The author goes on to discuss five reported incidents of same.

Then there’s this story:

An Islamic TV station using a Bugs Bunny lookalike to preach hatred to children has been slammed by religious leaders in the UK who fear it could brainwash vulnerable British children.

Assud the rabbit, who vows to ‘kill and eat Jews’ and glorifies the maiming of ‘infidels’ appears on Palestinian children’s show, Tomorrow’s Pioneers.

…Assud, who tells children in his first episode: ‘I, Assud, will get rid of the jews, Allah willing, and I will eat them up.’

…During one show broadcast in February, Assud vows to kill and eat all Danish people over the cartoon images of the Prophet Muhammad which appeared in a newspaper.

LA writes:

While eating people is not mandated or allowed in Islam, when we remember Allah’s endless promises of the total physical destruction of non-Muslims, the complete denial of their physical integrity as sacralized in the command to cut their heads off, would it be surprising, that in the holy-demonic passion of actually slaughtering non-Muslims, Muslims would on occasion get carried away with themselves and eat parts of the victims’ bodies?
