Paul Newman was a supporter of nuclear power
As reported by William Tucker and Stephanie Gutmann at National Review Online, this surprising development for the liberal Newman, who just passed away, took place as a result of his playing Gen. Leslie Groves, head of the Manhattan Project, in the 1992 movie Fat Man and Little Boy, and subsequently becoming a friend of Richard Rhodes, author of The Making of the Atomic Bomb, a great book I’ve discussed at length here.
