Hitchens supports Obama for president

Milos L. writes:

I thought you might want to know how Christopher Hitchens, whom the conservatives in America so enthusiastically embraced as their leftist ally because he supported the war on terror / Islamofascism / Islamism/ extremism, feels about the upcoming elections.

Talk about biting the hand that used to feed him! Then again, it is no better then they deserve, they all knew who Hitchens was.

LA replies:

Here I have to defend Hitchens (whom as you know I disapprove of so much I never read an article of his, but this time in order to reply to you I made an exception) from your charge. I don’t agree that he’s biting the hand that feeds. He never signed on to the Republican party. He has a right to his opinion and his vote. And his reasons for opposing McCain-Palin are argued reasonably.

Infinitely worse than endorsing Obama has been his continued hateful (meaning, literally, full of hate) attacks on conservatives, Christians, Christianity, and religion. THAT has been his biting of the hand that feeds, and THAT is what has made him deserve complete obloquy among conservatives, but which he never received. But I’m the only conservative I know of who has said that the so-called conservatives movement’s embrace of this man has been a disgrace.

Milos replies:

Still, you have to admit that it’s kind of fun seeing those conservatives that gushed over Hitchens and that are now supporting McCain end up with egg on their face.
