Australia versus Australia

American Thinker has published my article on the movie Australia.
I remember a discussion on your site about Darwin, Australia which gave me anidea why the director Luhrmann used Darwin (and the bombing of the city during World War II) in his film. He clumsily plays with Darwinian associations such as “survival of the fittest” and the Aborigines as the “missing link.”
The film is enjoyable on many levels. Luhrmann is talented and knows his craft well. Everyone has taken a swing at him for his heavily leftist ideology. But, instead of getting angry, why don’t conservatives make their own beautiful, well-crafted and intricate films? I think this is the general story of conservatism—always attacking liberals. Retaliatory and reactionary. And always, therefore, angry!
