The snowy owl moves south—why would that be, ponders the AP
The snowy owl, a beautiful creature, is moving beyond its usual northern grounds to the southern part of the United States.
As Powerline amusedly notes, the AP suggests various explanations for the unusual event, while ignoring the most obvious explanation: the snowy owl lives in cold climates, and the southern states are getting colder. A definite consolation of the Obama years will be, and already is, the fun of watching the twists and turns of liberals as manmade global warming—which they insisted was the absolute truth which ALL SCIENTISTS supported and only VILE SUBHUMANS could disagree with—becomes more and more untenable. Meanwhile, Melanie Phillips, a long-time critic of manmade global warming, which she calls the “greatest scientific scam in history” (personally, I reserve that honor for Darwinism), sums up the accumulating evidence contradicting warming, quotes the former supervisor of warming prophet James Hansen who says warming is bunk, and mentions the insane costs Britain has imposed on its economy in fealty to this leftist pseudo religion. Also, Scott of Powerline points out how liberal bellwether Dana Millbank of the Washington Post has lately been mocking the warming orthodoxy.

I noted your entry on your site about the snowy owl and its appearance farther south than is usual.LA replies:
I protest your description of my view. I do not believe that “the scientific community is composed of nothing but liars and frauds when it comes to issues of temperature change and species migration.” I am interested in the issue, and just the other day I asked our mutual friend Paul Nachman if he wanted to write something for VFR arguing for manmade global warming. I do not consider people who believe in manmade global warming to be nothing but liars and frauds. The people I consider liars and frauds are those who declare that the manmade warming issue is absolutely settled, that no scientists disagree with the warming thesis, that no one has the right to question or disagree with it, and that anyone who does disagree with it is a moron or a tool of sinister forces.Edward replies:
Fair enough, but the way your text was written left me with a different impression.LA replies:
It’s true that in the original entry, I was arguably smug on the idea that AGW is doomed; but I was not attacking all people who believe in it, I was only attacking the “truthers.”February 13 Bruce B. writes:
