The efflorescence of black culture
A rapper in Louisiana named C-Murder, facing trial on two separate charges of second degree murder in two separate murder cases, has announced an anti-murder campaign. C-Murder has teamed up with black ministers who are themselves criminals to promote the anti-murder effort. He’s keeping his name, however. You know, C-Murder. His pastor and spokesman, Rev. Toris Young, who has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for identity theft, explained to reporters at the press conference at C-Murder’s grandmother’s house, where he is under house arrest, that C-Murder’s name stems from his recording talent. He “was so bad he would murder that CD,” Young said. Posted by Lawrence Auster at April 14, 2009 10:57 PM | Send Email entry |
