Are liberals finding it harder to keep turning their heads from black antiwhite violence?

Has electing a black president made it possible for liberals to talk about some black on white hate crimes?LA replies:
First, as I’ve said before, I believe that the formal category of “hate crime,” which is being charged here on behalf of the victim, is a loser for us even if some anti-white crimes get designated as hate crimes. This is because the existence of the formal category of hate crime has the effect of lessening the importance of all other anti-white attacks, that is, attacks in which the assailant did not verbally indicate that he was motivated by animus against whites. We end up in a situation in which the only anti-white crimes that matter are those formally designated as hate crimes, while other anti-white racial crime don’t matter. This is because the idiot level of the human mind that controls popular discourse in modern society, and that also constructs modern reductionist ideologies, can only count as high as one. If X matters the most, then non-X somehow doesn’t matter. If hate crime is given a supreme importance, then other crimes are implicitly dismissed or diminished in importance. The killers in the Knoxville Atrocity did not apparently express any anti-white sentiments, therefore what they did was not a hate crime, and therefore, in the economy of the knee jerk modern mind, it wasn’t really bad, at least not the kind of badness we really care about. Here is the article on the Buffalo attack:
Father wants son’s beating treated as a hate crime Jeremy replies to LA:
If we focus solely on “hate crimes” without mentioning the overall numbers of black on white crime, then I agree with you that we weaken our position. But I wasn’t thinking about us when I wrote to you. I was thinking about white liberals and the mass media. Given that many white leftists are reluctant to talk about black violence at all, I think it is a positive step that CNN carried this story and described in a fair way the racial double standards. I was not suggesting that conservatives or traditionalists stop writing about black criminality in order to focus on hate crimes. In fact, it may be more effective from the standpoint of helping the average white guy see the light and perhaps might be more palatable for liberals or moderates if one were to deliver the overall numbers of black on white violence in the context of describing a specific and savage black on white hate crime. And while we are engaging white liberals and white moderates for their benefit, our side should also note that hate crime laws are not applied fairly, that particularly savage black on white attacks should be counted as hate crimes even if nothing racial was said, and that white hate crime numbers are unfairly inflated because Hispanic perpetrators are counted as whites.John B. writes:
Okay—so the mainstream media are willing to regard a black-on-white attack as a hate crime if it interferes with a white man’s ability to mate with a black woman. Please. Posted by Lawrence Auster at September 08, 2009 10:56 AM | Send Email entry |
