Is the liberal orthodoxy on race really a neutral position?

The other day we discussed Washington Post columnist Carolyn Hax’s statement to a female correspondent that her lack of desire to date a black man meant she was racist. Now a VFR commenter argues that Hax was not taking any position, but was being “refreshingly neutral. She never comes out and says that using race as a criterion is wrong.” I, astonished, reply.
