Blacks and Hispanics gang-rape white girl. Race had nothing to do with it.
We don’t have to read tea leaves or limit ourselves to educated guesses any more. Eight days after the October 24 gang rape at Richmond High School in Richmond, California, columnist Tammerlin Drummond of the
Contra Costa Times, in a November 1 column (which Mencius Moldbug sent me late last night),
lets on, reluctantly and grudgingly, that the 15 year old victim is white—and then, in the very next sentence, she proceeds to inform us that Race Had Nothing To Do With It. That Race Never Has Anything To Do With It. That whites rape as much as blacks. The only proper liberal view, implied by Drummond, is that males of all racial groups commit rape equally on females of all racial groups—white males gang-raping black females, Chinese males gang -raping Hispanic females, Presbyterian men gang-raping Hmong, Parsis gang raping Jewesses, race and ethnicity are completely irrelevent, completely irrelevant, completely irrelevant…
Just to pinpoint it, here’s the moment of transition, where, a good way into the article, she finally mentions the victim’s race, then immediately denies the racial angle:
[The suspects] are Hispanic, black and white. The victim is white.
The fact is, young males raping young females is not just an urban problem—code word black and brown.
This most recent rape happened in Richmond. But it could have just as easily happened in a wealthy suburban neighborhood, or on a public or private college campus. In fact, gang rapes often do.
Her spinning and rationalizations not only prevent Tammerlin from recognizing the racial realities of rape in America, in which many thousands of white females are raped or sexually assaulted each year by blacks, and virtually no black women are raped or sexually assaulted by white men; her spinning prevents her from acknowledging the simple facticity of what happened at Richmond High: that a group of at least seven men and youths, all of them blacks and Hispanics except for a 15 year old white boy who had brought the girl to the scene, cheered on by ten additional blacks and Hispanics, spent two and a half hours raping a 15 year old white girl on the grounds of a California high school during a school dance. Tammerlin can’t let these facts speak for themselves, because the facts, stated plainly without cushions and buffers, would shatter the liberal mind.
After deflecting the racial aspect of the race ,she spends the rest of the column on the idea that young men get their female victims so drunk that the victims afterward are unable to identify their rapists. She predicts that the suspects in the Richmond case may use the same defense.
Below Drummond’s column I’ve listed the previous VFR links on this story.
What’s race got to do with it?

A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL chugs brandy after her homecoming dance and becomes incapacitated. She is lying semiconscious on a bench in a secluded area at Richmond High school. All of the sudden, authorities say, the boys and men she’d been partying with begin to rape her. As many as seven of them take turns. They beat her. They jeer. They snap photos of their heinous acts with their cell phones. As word of the attack spreads, others come to gawk. No one tries to help the girl. The vicious attack goes on for a good two hours before someone finally alerts a parent who calls the police.
The incident last Saturday at Richmond High has made international news. Even in a world accustomed to humans committing heinous acts, the depravity of this attack—and that onlookers considered it a form of entertainment—shocks and sickens.
Once again, poor Richmond is being characterized as a dangerous, violent place with no redeeming qualities.
A place where, it’s not at all surprising something like this would happen.
“Richmond must be an awful community for so many young men and boys to be involved in a crime like this,” I read in one Internet post.
Actually, it’s not. God knows the city has had its challenges reigning in street violence. However, the situation is a lot better than it was. Like all cities, there are good, hardworking people who are proud of their community. People appalled that their city’s name has been linked to such savagery in the national conscience.
There are those who have sought to inject race into the public dialogue about the gang rape at Richmond High.
Yet there is no evidence that this attack had anything to do with race.
This is about young boys and men—fueled by alcohol—conducting a cowardly assault upon a defenseless young girl. Period.
In fact, the four suspects charged so far span the racial rainbow.
They are Hispanic, black and white. The victim is white.
The fact is, young males raping young females is not just an urban problem—code word black and brown.
This most recent rape happened in Richmond. But it could have just as easily happened in a wealthy suburban neighborhood, or on a public or private college campus. In fact, gang rapes often do. [LA replies: Oh, yes, gangs of young white men commit gang rape all the time, it’s very well known, like at Duke University, don’t you remember? Like the kidnappers and rapists of Tawana Brawley in Dutchess County, New York, don’t you remember? Like, uh, let me think now…. Help me out here, will you?]
Many attacks never get reported though because the victims are too embarrassed to come forward. They blame themselves because they were drinking. Sometimes, they may not even remember what happened.
In 2007, eight members of the De Anza College men’s baseball team were accused of gang raping a 17-year-old girl at a house party.
Three members of the women’s soccer team reported to authorities that they had forced their way into a room and found the comatose young woman lying on a mattress. She had vomited on herself. One of the men was having intercourse with her while the others stood around the mattress.
Discarded condoms lay on the floor. The soccer players took the woman to the hospital. The Santa Clara District Attorney declined to file charges, stating that there wasn’t enough evidence that a crime had occurred. The women soccer players couldn’t positively identify the men in the room—though they had identified one man who had attempted to block them from entering. The victim said she couldn’t remember anything that happened after she arrived at the party.
After the district attorney decided not to prosecute, the soccer players released a statement announcing their “disappointment beyond belief.”
“The message is, “it stated, “if you get an underage girl drunk enough, you can get away with rape.”
One of the De Anza baseball players reportedly said that the victim had gotten drunk and “done this to herself.”
I have no doubt that at least one of the suspects—four charged and two detained as of this writing—in the Richmond attacks will employ the same lame defense. That because the girl was drunk, she invited this vicious attack. I don’t care if her blood-alcohol level was in the stratosphere. She in no way deserved to be treated like a piece of meat—like something that wasn’t even human.
If they are convicted and sent to prison, I suspect that they will learn firsthand how unfunny rape really is.

So Drummond is basically approving and cheerng on the rape of young male prisoners in prison. There’s a nice, humanitarian liberal for you! And I thought liberals disapproved of “an eye for an eye.”

Exactly. Same with the death penalty. Liberals will tell you that life in prison is a much worse sentence than the death penalty. Well then, if life sentences are worse than the death penalty, then we should do away with life sentencing. IT is more CRUEL then the death penalty. In fact, why should we send murderers to prison at all? THAT is CRUEL too. So, liberals instruct us to eschew the death penalty because it is cruel and unusual punishment only to insruct us to embrace life sentencing because it is actually worse than the death penalty. Sort of makes one think the liberal knows that the death penalty is appropriate, yet since the liberal does not have the cojones to give someone the death penalty, they settle for life sentencing, and then console their cowardice by claiming that a life sentence is a worse fate.
Liberals are amongst the cruelest people on the planet. They are just better at trying to cover it up. However, in this case the hypocrisy shines through loud and clear—this Drummond person was stupid enough to write it down for our benefit.
LA replies:
Further, who does she think is raping young white male prisoners? It’s done overwhelmingly by blacks. So she’s cheering for the very phenomenon the existence of which she denies: black sexual predation of whites.
Somehow a column which is about the nonwhite rape of a white ends up being about white rapists who deserve to be raped by nonwhites

Here is a picture of Tamerlin Drummond.
Morgan writes from Wigan, England:
Gintas, your picture of Drummond: oh how I laughed and laughed and laughed when I saw it.
LA writes:
By the way, isn’t it odd that we finally learned the race of the victim, not from a news story, but from an almost passing comment by a columnist? It would be interesting to find out if the news ever reported this. One possibility is that it was (of course) known in Richmond who the girl was, but the newspapers would not report this un-PC fact, but it was being discussed locally, and so this local columnist (who is black) wanted to reply to that..
