Is this the way President Gollum is getting his revenge?

Somali refugees in Uganda have “failed to integrate with other refugee groups living in Nakivale and with the local communities because of their unique language and culture,” so the U.S. government is bringing them here! Under Obama, we’re revising Emma Lazarus’s message from America to other nations: “Don’t just send us YOUR wretched refuse. Send us the wretched refuse you’ve received from OTHER countries who are too alien and troublesome to be integrated into YOUR country.”

New Vision, which calls itself “Uganda’s leading web site,” is reporting that the USA is going to take 6000 Somali’s from Uganda for resettlement in the USA. As soon as we determine that the are not Al Qaeda terrorists. (Also discussed at Free Republic.)

One wonders though, seeing as we can’t even detect such terrorists in our own Army, even when they put logos on their business cards calling themselves soldiers for jihad and give Powerpoint presentations pointing out their sympathies, whether we will root out the terrorist and sympathizers among them. Our track record suggests we will fail.

Even if we do succeed in losing a few radical Islamists from the group what will we be left with? We will still be importing 6,000 people who are hostile to our culture, unable to speak our language, see us Christians as corrupt non-believing “Kafirs” whom their religion requires them to avoid associating with.

Presumably this will not prevent them from taking all sorts of social services from our government and additional aid from well meaning but misguided Christian and ‘social justice’ groups.

And equally certain, given the behavior of their co-nationals as detailed on VFR over the last year, some significant percentage of the young men will morph into street thugs and rampage through whatever hapless city our masters in the federal government decide to settle them in, beating people on video for the amusement of You Tube viewers worldwide.

Why must we take these people? The Ugandan paper is quite frank: “Explaining the reason of resettling Somalis to the US, Katura said Somali refugees have failed to integrate with other refugee groups living in Nakivale and with the local communities because of their unique language and culture.”

So they can’t assimilate with a nation on their own continent, a nation composed of people of the same race, religion and at least some similar culture. But, no worries, we will drop them into the middle of 21st century USA and they will prosper.

We are truly mad. We have allowed insane policies to be normalized. We are led by feckless whores who have no concern for the well being of those born here. Where are we to go when we are made refugees in our homeland? Will Uganda take and care for 6000 Americans who can no longer abide living next to the wretched of the earth the evil bastards in our government force upon us?

Maybe the alien-in-chief should get together with neocon Elliot Abrams, who proposes that we bring one million Haitians—and, clearly implied by his argument, at least 12 million of the poorest African blacks—to America.

In my professional work, I have frequent contact with refugees (actually resettled persons would be a better term), mostly from Somalia and Bhutan (the latter are actually Nepalis who are being kicked OUT of Bhutan because they don’t belong there).

While I don’t disagree with any of the larger sociopolitical commentary you and others have made about how stupid the practice is of airdropping these people into small-medium sized communities around the United States, I feel moved to insert a comment on the human dimension.

Do any of the politicians and bureaucrats responsible for this resettlement realize how alien (italics) these people are? The ones I deal with are very, very sympathetic as individuals (I don’t work in law enforcement or counterterrorism)—but OMG, what an enormous dislocation they are being put through!

The very elderly ones—I’m thinking of an 88 year old woman I saw last week, or an 89 year old man from Somalia I saw last year—for them, it is like being transported to Mars, where EVERYTHING important to them is taken away and replaced with NOTHING that they can even begin to imagine.

In addition to being foolish and wasteful, this do-good process is also CRUEL—very, very cruel. What sort of monsters are responsible for this?

Along with the millions of Haitians the U.S. is expected to allow to immigrate, these Somalis represent the radical mutation of affirmative action under Obama. Remember how we used to hear that our government must “look like America”? Now, with the Obamas, Eric Holder, Ron Kirk, Lisa Jackson, Susan Rice, Hilda Solis, Adolfo Carion, Ken Salazar, Sonia Sotomayor, Valerie Jarrett, and their horde of minority staffers, we must make America “look like our government.”

Yes, this is true, and while we must work through the political system to change this as much and as fast as we can, I would suggest that we stop talking so much about how insane and hostile this all is and start talking about the practical things we will have to do to protect ourselves, our families, and our friends and co-workers. Because they are going to need protection and the government is not going to provide it. I am not talking guns and violence necessarily, but practical measures to isolate ourselves from the threat, and protect our investments and property. The problem is going to develop to some degree, at this point we can not stop it entirely, we must prepare to deal with it effectively.

From that photo of him with the weird expression on his face in the previous entry, “Strange and disturbing.” I captioned it, “President Gollum announcing economic initiatives.”

So it WAS the picture. I was wondering if Barack Hussein just had some interminable longing for some unholy object. Oh wait! That must be it. Healthcare is his One Ring.

I thought his picture made him look like a reanimated corpse. Or perhaps the continued failures of his ambitions have worn him down so much that he gave up all appearnce of being America’s Magic Negro and opted for being terrifying.

It’s something of an unnatural, malevolent, monstrous expression—strange in itself, incredibly strange in a U.S. politician and president. It reminded me of Gollum (or maybe a reader pointed out the resemblance, I forget). I wasn’t thinking in terms of the search for the One Ring. However, as you point out, nationalized health care is indeed his Ring, his precious, the thing that justifies doing anything to acquire.
