The Gospels: too odd to be true?

Comments have been posted in the entry, “The Gospels: too embarrassing to be fiction.” See in particular the lengthy comment by Barry W., who thinks the Gospels are sheerest fictional nonsense written for a “primitive” people, and my reply.
