“I got to sit on a cliff and feel the earth move”

In May 1980 TV reporter Dave Crockett found himself alone in the middle of the Mount St. Helens eruption, in total darkness, with ash falling on him, unable to breathe, and thought he was dead. He recorded the whole experience, and lived.
