The question of the Wilders trial, cont.

A reader wonders why I find the Wilders trial, in which the judges prosecute the case and determine the defendant’s guilt or innocence, so hard to understand. He says that that’s simply the inquisitorial model of court procedure that is used throughout continental Europe. I reply: under the inquisitorial system, how would anyone be found innocent?
