Boy, has Obama lost the liberals IV

Read this article and the comments. Yes, even The Nation has given up on The One.
Here’s one comment (number 5):
Boy Will I guess it is hard to get the Kool-aide out of your system. You seem to recognize that BO hasn’t done any of the things you wanted but you still operate under the illusion that he must be an intellectual and great orator. His first two years have made it clear that Obama is an empty suit—someone who can read a teleprompter but has no substance or ideas of his own. He didn’t make clear what he wanted because he doesn’t have a clue. He takes all his cues from those around him and simply reflects them back at you. Unfortunately you and Katha helped give us this idiot because he fit some kind of idiotic view you had of the “first black president” ( how that is the case when he is half white has always made me laugh)and this has put back liberal causes by decades. Motivating Obama to finally do the right thing means having someone in the suit and no one is home- never has been. I thought Bush was the pinnacle of the stupidity of the american voter- I was wrong it is Obama.
LA replies:
The article itself, by William Greider, is vile, accusing the Republican establishment of attacking Obama as a black man and waging “racial McCarthyism.” And many of the comments are simply insane, such as calling Obama and his administration “conservative.” So these are insane people, not rational people, who have had it with Obama.
Jim C. writes:
What have I been predicting for two years that is now coming to fruition? The general public, as well as the elites, are rejecting Obama’s prepackaged vaunted intelligence and competence. And Grieder’s snide comment re conservatives attacking Obama as a black man is true—to the extent that Obama as a black man has had his career handed to him on a silver platter because of affirmative action. Grieder, being a feckless liberal, wouldn’t dare make the link between Barry’s AA status and his huge failure as president.
Here is a telling graph in Grieder’s article:
What’s missing with this president is power—a strong grasp of the powers he possesses and the willingness to govern the country with them. During the past two years, this missing quality has been consistently obvious in his rhetoric and substantive policy positions. There is a cloying Boy Scout quality in his style of leadership—the troop leader urging boys to work together on their merit badges—and none of the pigheaded stubbornness of his “I am the decider” predecessor, nor the hard steel of Lyndon Johnson or the guile of Richard Nixon.
In other words, Grieder is calling Barry a weak loser. Read between the lines: liberals have a taboo against criticizing affirmative action blacks.
