A great movie
Thank you, Frank Capra, Robert Riskin (screenwriter), Clark Gable, and Claudette Colbert for It Happened One Night, which I saw last night for the nth time in my life, but on a wide-screen TV which brought out the wonderful silver quality of the old black and white film. As many times as I’ve seen it, I appreciated it as never before. It one of the best movies ever made, an expression of America at its best, and, indeed, a thing of perfection in itself. We should always be thankful for perfect things, in the secular as well as the spiritual realm. If you’ve ever wondered why Clark Gable was called the King of Hollywood, just see this movie.
David B. writes: I also saw “It Happened One Night” last night. I finally bought a wide-screen TV a week ago. It makes these old movies look even better. Posted by Lawrence Auster at November 25, 2010 09:28 AM | Send Email entry |
