New Year’s wishes from a reader

Wishing a happy New Year to VFR (Very Few Righteous). It was a pleasure coming across this clannish tribe huddled in New York, the last of the just men keeping the universe from imploding.

Hah. Thank you. I first read André Schwartz-Bart’s The Last of the Just when I was in my early teens, and it had a unique effect on me. That’s one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever received … though, to speak more seriously, all readers of the book would know that being “the last of the just” is the very last thing one would wish for oneself.
