Palin—a supporter of the homo-thug left?
In an unreadably long winded and pompous post, lesbian “conservative” Tammy Bruce (whom, on the basis of the matter at hand, we now understand to be a militant and thuggish lesbian “conservative”) interprets Sarah Palin’s “retweet” of Bruce’s “tweet” on DADT earlier this week as an endorsement of Bruce’s “tweet.” As I initially reported on January 4, Bruce, in a “tweet,” had been commenting on the controversy surrounding U.S. Navy commander Owen Honors’s raunchy video when she turned to the issue of gays in the military:
But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already—the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed.Palin “retweeted” this as:
HeyTammyBruce But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already—the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed about 13 hours ago via web Retweeted by SarahPalinUSA and 83 othersLet’s leave aside for a second the question whether Bruce is correct that Palin endorses her “tweet”. The point is that Bruce has said that Palin endorses her “tweet.” And Palin has not corrected that statement. Moreover, Bruce says that she and Palin have met on several occasions and suggests they are friends who see eye to eye on homosexual issues. Presumably, then, Palin is aware that Bruce has stated publicly that Palin agrees with Bruce’s “tweet.” Yet Palin has not issued any correction of Bruce’s interpretation. We are therefore getting close to the point where we can say that it is a rebuttable presumption that Bruce’s interpretation is correct, and that Palin does indeed endorse Bruce’s statement that “the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed.” The only way for Palin to rebut that presumption is for her to state publicly that she dissociates herself from Bruce’s “tweet.” Five days have passed and she has not done that. The ball is in your court, Palin supporters. You’ve been silent on this issue all week. Do you have anything to say about Palin’s apparent endorsement of Bruce’s remark? Or is it perhaps the case that Palin’s actual positions, no matter how anti-conservative they may be, are a matter of complete indifference to you, because your support for her is not based on her positions, but on the fact that she is a “real person”?
UPDATE, January 11: Three days have passed since this entry was posted, and not a single Palin supporter has replied to my questions. Email entry |
