Free at last! Free at last! Qaradawi’s triumphant return from fifty year exile
There is full coverage at Gates of Vienna, drawing on several sources, of Yusef al-Qaradawi’s speech today in Tahrir Square. Evidently the long-exiled Egyptian Brotherhood theologian was not putting forth his full message and he sounded some moderate and ecumenical notes (for an example, see this). But even his cleaned-up version of himself, says GoV, was enough to make us realize that he is the Khomeini of Egypt. See also VFR’s previous entry today on the unexpurgated Qaradawi, who believes, based on the Koran, that all non-Muslims are legitimate targets of lethal violence.
