The world turned upside down—Dennis Kucinich is mature and responsible
Bill O’Reilly is disgusted that our leaders won’t say openly that toppling Ghadafi is their real purpose, a purpose that O’Reilly strongly supports—and since when has anyone considered him a neocon? He interviewed Rep. Dennis Kucinich tonight, and in the exchange Kucinich was the mature and serious one—chin down, unsmiling, sticking gravely to his position that the action is illegitimate without congressional authorization and that we are not the policeman of the world. Meanwhile the semi-unhinged O’Reilly was insisting that what this action is really about is getting back at Qadafi for the Lockerbie bombing. He doesn’t seem to be aware that the U.S. government years ago wrote off the Lockerbie bombing and made its peace with Kaddaffy, not to mention the fact that Obama has, of course, said nothing about Lockerbie. As usual, O’Reilly is in his own instinctive-man-of-the-people universe. He doesn’t have to pay attention to what anyone else is saying or what the facts are. He just sounds off.
