Spelling Michele Bachmann

Now that Michele Bachmann is a presidential candidate and a natural favorite of conservatives whom people will be talking about a lot, it’s time to start spelling her unusual first name correctly. It’s Michele, with one “l”. I’ve used the correct spelling for a long time, but yesterday I incorrectly typed “Michelle” a couple of times, and some readers, including supporters of hers, also made that mistake. A useful memory device is to think: one “l” in “Michele,” two “n’s” in “Bachmann.”
