Spider-Man finally opens

After 180 preview performances, the firing of its original, highly touted director (see VFR’s earlier items here and here), and a complete re-configuration, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened last night on Broadway, and theater critic Ben Brantlee of the New York Times … well, I can’t say he “hates” or “loathes” the play, as such words are inadequate to characterize this fascinating review of a Broadway disaster.
