Bernard Lewis’s “Left Behind” theory added to “Non-Islam theories of Islamic extremism”

I just realized to my surprise that in my collection of Non-Islam Theories of Islamic Extremism (i.e., theories that “explain” Islamic extremism without making any reference to Islam itself), there was no item on one of most influential and damaging of such theories—Bernard Lewis’s idea that Islamic extremism is caused by the trauma experienced by Muslims as a result of Islam having been “left behind” by the modern West.

I’ve now added an item on this to the “Theories” collection, followed by another new item about Daniel Pipes, who also subscribes to the “left behind” theory. The additions are a few items down in the page.
