Let euphemism ring!

See Thomas Bertonneau’s enraged but humorous reflections on the U.S. military’s cult of technocratic euphemism, such as “improvised explosive device” in place of “bomb” or “land mine,” and “dismounted complex blast injuries” in place of “We force our soldiers out of their expensive armored vehicles to play kissy-face with savages, who then find it much easier to kill and main them with their bombs.”
