The end of an era?
The lead headline of today’s New York Times: Violent End to an Era as Qaddafi Dies in LibyaIn one sense, if a man has been the dictator of a country for 42 years and he is overthrown and killed, you could call it “the end to an era.” But in the deeper and truer sense there is no end to an era here. There is only the latest regime change in the eternal Muslim civil war.
I agree, and is it legally and morally justified for the United States to be involved in the assassination of dictators? Didn’t Kaddafy deserve a trial? Posted by Lawrence Auster at October 21, 2011 08:59 AM | Send Email entry |
