America’s actually existing foreign policy

We may topple and kill any foreign leader if we think there’s someone in his country who is more “democratic” than he is.

And it’s of complete indifference to us whether the alternative leader is in fact more “democratic” than the one we topple and kill. All that matters to us is the assertion of our will in favor of whatever we choose to call “democracy.”
