Occupy plans to shut down every West Coast port
After Mayor Bloomberg finally took action last week to shut down the Occupy Wall Street encampment, I thought that the Occupy movement was on its last legs. But that does not appear to be the case, at least on the West Coast. CNS News
reports:
Vandalism, violence, burning and shutting down the nation’s fifth busiest port weren’t enough for Occupy Oakland. On Friday, the General Assembly for the group voted unanimously for “a coordinated shutdown of ports on the entire West Coast on December 12.”
According to a statement from Occupy Oakland, this move is in “response to coordinated attacks on the occupations and attacks on workers across the nation.” “We call on each West Coast occupation to organize a mass mobilization to shut down its local port.”

The Occupiers start with the premise that they have a right to engage in occupations of public property indefinitely. This means that the rest of the public loses the right to use these public areas for relaxation, commerce, enjoyment, or whatever during the lengthy occupation. It also means small businesses and vendors, such as the lady who sold hot dogs from a cart and was nearly bankrupted, just have to accept their economic ruin so that some spoiled brats can play schoolboy Lenin. It further means that locals have to put up with the crime, the drug use, and the poor hygiene the Occupiers bring to the neighborhood.
Since the Occupiers were spouting Politically Correct dogma, they met with quick approval of the same corporate media and leftist politicians (Mayor Bloombrain being both wrapped up in one package) who treated the Tea Partiers like a bunch of bigoted rabble. But the Occupiers’ behavior has become intolerable and has shown their disdain for the rights of others. So the authorities have been forced to take action against their criminality, which the Occupiers call “coordinated attacks.” Well, duh!
If a Tea Party group acted this way for even a couple of days the left would be screaming for the National Guard to be sent in to remove the “terrorists.”
I can’t help but laugh at the Occupiers’ expressed concern about income inequality. They express this with a straight face while:
* Calling for America to throw open its borders to tens of millions of illiterate peasants from every corner of the earth, thus assuring greater income inequality.
* Fawning over Top One Percenters who ride their stretch limousines over to spend a few minutes at the rally site, bedecked with expensive bling.
* Endangering the livelihoods of average folks just trying to earn a living.
* Robbing fellow Occupiers of their expensive corporate designed electronic gadgets.
* And now threatening to shut down ports, meaning to put lots of workers out of work.
Rats are the first to leave a sinking ship. If the Democrats and their media sycophants are dropping their prior support for the Occupiers down the memory hole that’s a good indication that the ninety-nine percent are more likely the twenty-nine percent.
