Hutaree militia acquitted

Daniel S. writes:

Buried in all the recent news about the Martin-Zimmerman case was the acquittal of all members of the so-called Hutaree militia, a group of white Christian men who were arrested by the government and portrayed as justification for repeated liberal warnings of right-wing extremism. Two leaders of the group pled guilty to some petty weapons charges in a plea agreement, with the judge throwing out all the charges related to seditious conspiracy. The media hyped the case when the group was first arrested, but have been predictably silent about the case being thrown out. So much for the danger of white extremism, as supposedly represented by George Zimmerman.
