Life under Islamic law—the same Islamic law that the U.S. is spreading by encouraging democratic elections in Muslim countries

Here is the New York Times QUOTATION OF THE DAY:

“When I understood that I could not go out anymore, I said, ‘Life is not possible for me here.’”
AISHATTA ABDOU, who fled Timbuktu, Mali, after being chased by armed Islamic extremists for walking without her husband.

The linked lead article is “Jihadists’ Fierce Justice Drives Thousands to Flee Mali.”

Also notice that the Times says, “Islamic extremists.” That’s a departure from current liberal and conservative usage, which avoids joining the word “Islamic” with any negative word such as “extremist” or “terrorist.” The usual “correct” usage today is Islamist extremist or Islamist terrorist.
