The staggering damage from the storm
From yesterday’s New York Times, “Fractured Recovery Divides the Region”:
The authorities estimated that as many as 100,000 homes and businesses on Long Island had been destroyed or badly damaged in the storm. Sand dunes were flattened and rows of beach houses crushed.
