Liberal Jews asking for the wrong thing
Michael Hart was telling me about a pro-Israel rally of liberal U.S. Jews, where they prayed for “peace.” Mr. Hart said: “I’m old enough to remember World War II. We didn’t pray for peace. We prayed for victory.”
Jewish liberals who pray for peace rather than victory are not so very different from American conservatives, who would also rather have “peace” (meaning, they will give up almost anything just to be left alone) than victory. But in both cases, their enemies are not interested in getting even 90 percent of what they want if this means their hated foe continues to exist.
