The world we have lost
See Ed H.’s reflections on what the movie makers of the mid twentieth century unintentionally showed about the America of their time—unintentionally, because it was simply the way things were, which no one thought consciously to defend or oppose. But now that we have so utterly lost them, we bitterly and tragically regret the things that the Americans of that time could take for granted.
